BLOG #52

If I was Tally, and it was for a good reason that was important to me then yes I would ask the warden to make me pretty.

BLOG #51

No, I think Tally will not regret her decision, in fact i think she will be relieved to get it off her chest. I think David will still love Tally even if he nows that she is the reason he lost his home.

BLOG #50

No I don't think Maddy should have forced Shay to take the cure. If she would have done that then she would have been just like Dr. Cable, forcing people to do what they don't want to.

BLOG #49

If I was Shay and i was a pretty and I had the lesions in my brain changing the way I thought then I probably wouldn't take the cure. I wouldn't take it because the lesions would be telling me that it would be a bad idea.

BLOG #48

"Tally thought of the lesions on Shay's brain, the tiny cancers or wounds or whatever they are that she didn't even know she had. They were in there somewhere changing her friend's thoughts, warping her feeling, gnawing at the roots of who she was."

My response to that quote is that it makes me sad that thos people have to change the way that the citizens think and feel.

BLOG #47

  • Tally finds Shay and Shay is pretty
  • Tally and David find the other prisoners
  • They help the prisoners escape
  • Everyone hoverboards out of Special Circumstances

The kicker at the end of the chapter is that Maddy tells David that Az is dead.

BLOG #46

The quote "Radiology. Nuerology. Magnetic Imaging, and Operating Theatre Two."

I think the quote has a deeper meaning to the story.

Interrogation Room One, is obviously one room where they interrogate their prisoners. Isolation Room One, could be where they put the prisoners if they aren't cooperating or if they're stubborn and won't give any information. Disorientation Room One, might be where they confuse and try to disorient the prisoners

It describes her as, tall and elegant with eyes that were deep and soulful, flecked with copper and gold.

BLOG #45

If I had one chance to post a message it would be "Don't Lose Faith" because many people today don't strive to do their best.

BLOG #44

Tally, compared to the other uglies, has changed in her ways that she views people and becoming pretty. Things that made her change were her love for David and living in the Smoke.

BLOG #43

Yes, I think Tally's plan will work. I think that Tally's guilt and love for David is whats driving Tally. I don't think Tally is crazy she is just determined, and yes i think her feelings are valid.

BLOG #42

David and Tally describe the Rusties as crazy people that had no sense at all. I think that the description made by Tally and David is partly accurate but not as a whole.

Some weaknesses in our society is that we are using to much of our non renewable resources, and when that runs out we won't have anything else to rely on.

A weakness in there society is that to keep control they have to forcefully change the way that their citizens think.

BLOG #41

One of the days we weren't prepared for was 9/11.

BLOG #40

The irony in Tally's victory is that she saved the books, yet if she hadn't have gone to the Smoke it would have been safe.

BLOG #39

David is partly right, I think Tally has her amazing moments, but other than that not really, i mean shes brave, but not quite amazing.

Yes, I think she should feel very guilty, she betrayed Shay, and stole David, also she got the Smoke destroyed.

BLOG #38

I think the voice in the dark in the chapter "Run", is an ally to Tally, if it were an enemy, they wouldn't have shouted out to Tally. I think the voice in the dark is David. I think once she finds out who it is, Tally will feel safe that she with someone she likes.

BLOG #37

Self preservation, to me means that you foresake your friends to whatever awaits them. Self preservation is most definetly not the most important to me being loyal to your friends is much better. If i was selfish and relied on self preservation, then yes i would probably lie.

BLOG #36

Since Tally changed her mind about the Smoke, I think she will try to recapture all of her friends before all of them get the operation. I definetly think Tally is on the Smokies side, now that she realizes what the operation does, she wants to fight it.

BLOG #35

I think the invasion is an interesting and exciting part of the book, but I haven't finished the book, so I can't be sure if that really was the climax.

BLOG # 34

"What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful."

I think my Mom is the special person in my home life because she is kind and supportive towards everything I do... except drugs.

In my academic life the person I think is beautiful has a great personality and an awesome sense of humor, and she's cute.

BLOG #33

"Becoming pretty doesn't just change the way you look... it changes the way you think."

Mentally, I would not want to change at all, as for physically I wouldn't mind being a little bit stronger. I also hope my personality would stay the same, it would suck if you got the benefits, but lost your free will.

BLOG # 32

The quote tells me that the people in the city are very sheltered and protected.

Being pretty is that you get to look good but you lose your way of thinking.

BLOG #31

Simile:"It felt as if everyone in the smoke could see what the necklace really was:a symbol of treachery." pg 243-244

Personification:"Dr.Cables pendant seemed to grow heavier and heavier..."

No, because they are very nice and docile people.

BLOG #26

I think its untrue.

They got that we don't have hovercars. We work in factories above ground. We work together. They knew we had roller coasters for fun.

BLOG #25

David:nice,hes an ugly,dark brown hair.

BLOG #24

  • Tally is rescued by the bug-eyed people
  • bug eye people are pretties
  • they explain why they are burning the flower
  • They drop Tally off at rendevouz point

My response to the quote is that Tally has a very tough decision to make in her sad predicament.

BLOG #23

Imagery:Billowing clouds of smoke surrounded her, blotting out the sky.

Personification: A ragged flame wall moved through the flowers giving off a wave of blistering heat.

Simile: At first there was a sound like a roaring wind in her dreams.

BLOG #22

I think the flying machine was a helicopter. I think some humans are in the helicopter. I think that they will take Tally away.

BLOG #21

Yes, I had to take some horrible tasting medicine when I was sick.

Tally will get hurt or taken away.
